Pay equity—the principle of equal pay for work of equal value—is a fundamental human right enshrined in international agreements and Canadian federal legislation. While the initial goal of pay equity was to address the under-valuation of work traditionally performed by women, the principle of pay equity applies to all people, regardless of gender.
Send a letter to government representatives calling for pay equity legislation using the form on this page! Or you can download a hard copy petition and start collecting signatures. If you would like to learn more, you can book a presentation at your organization’s next meeting.
